You have finally arrived! After all the chaos and transition of planning, organising, packing, moving, and saying goodbyes, you are finally here and ready to begin Inbound, the third and final stage of your orientation process.
Inbound is a roadmap or guide for your first year in a location you are serving. It is divided into five main units with subtopics under each one; each Unit has a specific focus, but they all build on each other for integrated learning. There are resources, helpful books, articles and websites for each unit, but much of your learning will come by interacting with others through observations, questioning, discussion, and practice.

Arrival
You’ve arrived! You’ll now get to know your Inbound facilitator and get practical things done like getting a phone number or doing your first food shop.
Unit 1: Getting Settled
Let’s get started! You’ll be introduced to the seven themes you’ll be following throughout Inbound, and establishing patterns of learning and application.
Unit 2: Becoming a Belonger
You’ll delve more deeply into practical living, understanding your host culture, becoming a belonger and be given tools for ongoing language learning.
Unit 3: Team Growth & Intercultural Relationships
You’re here to build meaningful relationships! You’ll be given tools to equip you to function well multi-culturally and to develop good interpersonal skills.
Unit 4: Discipleship
Our goal is to be an effective disciple of Jesus Christ. As you live in your host culture, you’ll learn about resources and ideas that will help you to do this appropriately and confidently in your context.
Unit 5: Reflection & Looking Forward
Given all that you’ll have learned so far, how will you continue to apply and build upon it? You’ll focus on what it means to truly become a life-long learner.
